4th of July in Star Valley, Wy

For the 4th of July, we went up to the cabin in Star Valley, Wy. They had a big celebration for all the residents. It was lots of fun. Landon's family decorates a golf cart for the parade every year. They have a contest & win 1st place... every year. This year was no different. They decorated it like the Liberty Bell. The kids had fun riding in the cart. They were in races, had scavenger hunts in sawdust, had lots of treats, got their faces painted & play alot of games.

Journey turned 7 on July 1st. We had the family come over for dinner, ice cream & cupcakes.

Oakland's dance recital - May

Oakland took dance last year. She had her recital in May. She did so good (which I was kind of surprised because every time I would go in & watch her at dance she would just stand there, so I didn't think she knew the dance). It turned out so cute & she actually did the whole thing.

Navy & Journey have been taking singing lessons. This is from their recital in May. They LOVE it & they did great. They have a great teacher.

A little organizing

• Today I looked at my friends blog & seen her "Spring Cleaning" list & all that she got accomplished. She inspired me to do something that I've been needing to do for some time now, in my kitchen "paperwork cupboard". (One of those things that I just kept putting off.) So I loaded up the kids & off I went, to Walmart, to get some containers.
• When we moved in our house, I just put the whole box(es) of desk stuff in this cabinet & never unpacked it. When I needed something... I just dug through the boxes. Most of it I haven't even needed. The rest got organized in these "see through" containers. I am going to label them on the outside. (I can see what's in them, but I have my kids' stuff in some, so I will label them so they will be able to find what they need without going through all my paperwork too.) It took me about 3 1/2 hours, but it was time well spent. This looks so much nicer than my 5 big AVON boxes full. I not only got rid of the boxes, but I shredded enough papers to fill a big garbage bag. Thanks for the motivation Sunshine! Will you send me some more tomorrow, PLEASE! :)
  

My girls' bathroom re-do

I finally finished my girls' bathroom (other than some minor finishing touches). It's more "girly" than it was before & it's exactly what I was going for. First I cut 2" stripes from pink & black vinyl. They are 9' tall. I didn't want to be exact on the spacing, so I just put them up & spaced them all different spaces. I also cut a whole bunch of girly graphics (lipstick, hairspray, make-up, jewelery, shoes, blow dryer, etc), and spaced them everyother color around the bathroom at the top as a border. I found some cute canvas pictures & a little pink, wood box (to put their toothpaste in) at Hobby Lobby. Then I found some pink & black towels, a black & white zebra shower curtain (which is my favorite accessory) & 2 black rugs. Voila. My girls LOVE it!!

Mudroom Project...

Okay, So I'm not doing so well with keeping up with my blog. But I did finish one of my New Years Resolutions. Here is the Hallway to my 1/2 bath & garage. The lighting isn't really good in these pictures. My walls were a cream color, so I painted the 1x4's and the wall below, the same light tanish color to match my base boards & trim. Now I just need to find some kind of "art" to go above it. As for the mailbox... well, the weather has put that project off for a little bit longer. We did get some of the cinder blocks down, but the cement wasn't drying too fast in the coldness, so that will have to wait.

Project: Mudroom/entry from garage

My third project is in my mudroom, or entry from the garage. It is a long wall that I just couldn't decide on what to do. I didn't really want anything fancy, because it's just a hallway to get to a 1/2 bath & the garage. I finally came to a decision. We got some supplies while at Home Depot last night. I spent about $35.00 on this project. And I will post pictures when it's done. (hopefully tomorrow?)

NeW YeArS ReSoLuTiOnS!!!

This year I have a bunch of resolutions, or projects that I've just been wanting to get done for sometime.

The First one, Well, keeping my blog updated. So here I am. I will try to be better at this.

The Second is getting my mailbox finished. We've lived in our house for almost 4 years (on Valentines Day), and still have our "temporary" particle board mailbox. Like I said, it was Feb. when me moved into our house, so we were waiting for it to warm up before landon made our mailbox. We had the rock from our house ,in a crate, on our front yard. The rock people thought we were done with it & came & picked up the crate. It's been like pulling teeth getting ahold of the people & getting enough rock back up here to finish the mailbox. Well, one of the contractors that My dad & Landon plumb for, had some leftover rock from another house. That rock just happened to be the same rock on our house, so he told Landon he could take it. YEAH!!! Last night after Landon brought the rock home, we headed to Logan to get the rest of the supplies (cinder blocks, mortar, etc.) to finish the project. Landon started on it today. I will post pics when it's finished
